Editor’s Notes: In my last One Shots #8 I said I was going to do a mission briefing, but in honor of the holiday Thanksgiving, I felt it only right to do a Thanksgiving theme story, so I wrote this up just now for the occasion.

First Official Thanksgiving Together
Starring The Entire Intergalactic Space Travelers.

 The arrangements for the Thanksgiving meal and meeting were arranged by Stacy James Meadows a.k.a. Heavy Metal Thunder a.k.a. The Electrical Phantom, who was the official Commander of all The Intergalactic Space Travelers.  Stacy had gotten with Martin Van Burge a.k.a. Dollar Bill, who owned his own hotel, to have one of the meeting rooms set up for the special occasion. 
 Martin, despite the fact of having several other Thanksgiving meetings going on as well at the hotel, managed to keep one of his meeting rooms freed up for the occasion.  He also knew with so many other such meetings going on there as well, that theirs would be kept at a low profile.  He made sure to have his staff working on setting the place up, and preparing the food.
Martin also made sure there would be lots of food for sure, especially since Micro Wave Man would be there, and he knew Micro Wave Man could eat a lot of food. 
 The Intergalactic Space Travelers began to arrive at the meeting room.  The first two to arrive, of course, were Stacy and his brother Billy Van Hoorebeke a.k.a. Metal Wolf.  Stacy was there a little early just to make sure everything was set up properly and in order. 
 Next came Oran Sigler a.k.a. Sunstar and his private security Danny Nodel a.k.a. Starfighter.  Sunstar was the official Commissioner of the group, and practically recruited all the members himself.  Oran entered and went to sit next to Stacy where they began to chat for awhile.  Meanwhile, Danny walked around and took the place in, checking for anything that would be a security risk.  He was happy to see that there wasn’t a huge banner that had the group’s name splashed all over it, but instead a phony business name was being used.  He didn’t really see any security risks, and eventually found a seat next to Oran, where he silently sat, and kept an eye on the place. 
 Next to arrive, after Martin called his room to remind him, was Scientist John Liver a.k.a Kat Man 7, who took a human pill, so that he wouldn’t be in his mutant cat form.  Not surprising he came in with his lab coat clutching something in his hands.  What was a surprising thing to Martin though, was that it wasn’t one of John’s experiments he was usually working on, but a small video game player of some sort.  John, seeing that Billy was a little bored, set down next to him and showed him the game.  They then took turns playing it.  Stacy was glad that Billy had found someone here to keep him sort of entertained, while he was chatting about business with Oran. 
 Next to arrive was the group’s married couple, Lee Chow a.k.a. Psycho and his wife Alicia a.k.a. Dentgirl.  Lee wore a dress suit while Alicia wore dress pants, and a long sleeve shirt to cover up the metal in here body.  She also wore special make up on her face to look normal as well.  They walked in holding hands, and took a seat still talking with each other in lover’s talk. 
 Next came Tracey McGoldburg a.k.a. Powerbird, who because of her acting in movies fame, had down played her looks, and even wore somewhat of a disguise.  Stacy and her had an ongoing on again and off again sort of love thing going on, but for now she seemed happy to see him, and they hugged as she came to sit beside Stacy. 
 The last one to show up was Mark Surrender a.k.a. Micro Wave Man.  As soon as he stepped into the room, Stacy excused himself a moment from the table to pull Mark to the side. 
 “Listen, Mark, I know you really like to eat, but have one normal size helping at first, and then after everyone else is done eating you can help yourself to the rest of the food, all right?”  Stacy said.
 “Sure thing boss, not a problem.  Appreciate you giving me the left overs.”  Mark replied.
 After that they both went to their seats and the festivities where ready to begin.
 Martin had his hotel staff lay out the food and drinks on some tables in the back of the room, and then instructed them to assist the other rooms, and not to come back here until he had called for them again, so that they could have privacy.  They then formed a line to get their food and drinks, and when everyone had sat back down, Stacy stood up and used his fork to bang on the side of his glass to get everyone’s attention. 
 “Thank you all for coming on such a festive holiday.  I am glad that we are able to share this time together.  I think that in honor of this holiday, that we should go around the table and each of us share what we are thankful for in this holiday season.  I will start it off by saying that I am very thankful to be chosen as leader of such a fine group of people.  Though we have a long hard road ahead of us, I feel that we will be able to handle what comes our way.  Oran?”  Stacy said and then sat back down, as Oran stood up to speak.
 “I am thankful for having the honor of being here on your planet, and being able to choose such fine warriors to work with on the hard tasks ahead.  I really appreciate each of you for answering my call to unite and fight against the evil on your world.  Danny?”  Oran spoke.
 Danny hesitated momentarily before reluctantly standing.  Then he said.  “I am grateful to have a secure and peaceful meeting place here, where we can relax without being constantly bombarded with enemies.  Lee?” 
 Danny sat down as Lee stood up and gave a bow in respect to the group.  “I am thankful as well, to have such a brave group of people to stand at my side, and that I know will have my back, and I theirs, no matter what comes our way.  Sweetheart?”  Lee said as he extended his hand to help Alicia stand up, and then sat down himself. 
 “I am very thankful to have found such a great group of friends as well, along with finding my true soul mate in Lee here.  I hope we have many more such happy celebrations
together in the future.  Martin?”  Alicia said as she sat back down.
 Martin stood up.  “I am thankful for having such a booming motel business, that I am able to host this special occasion for us all.  I am proud to be in such a great group of people, and I too hope that this is only the first of many more such events that I am able to host here for us.  John?”  Martin motioned to his friend, as he sat down. 
 John stood up, and nervously ringed his hands together.  “Well, despite my minor mishap, that turned me into what normal people would term a freak, I am thankful for finding a group of people who accept me for what I am, and support me in continuing to do what I do.  What about you Billy?” 
 John sat back down as Billy clumsily stood up, banging the table slightly.  “Sorry.  Um…well, I’m thankful to have such a caring brother who looks out for me, and has went out of his way to help me become part of such a great team.  What about you, Mark?” 
 Billy tried to sit back down this time without banging the table.  Mark stood up.  “You all have pretty much summed up what I am thankful for as well.  I agree with all of you, and am thankful for such fine friends who support me as well.  Tracey?”
 Mark sat down as Tracey stood up.  “I am thankful that despite the up and downs that Stacy and I’s relationship has went through that I am able to spend this time with him, and with such a great group of friends.”   She sat down. 
 Stacy stood again.  “Well, thank you all for sharing your thoughts.  I hope this helps in us bonding better as a team.  So let’s dig in.”  Stacy said as he sat back down and began to spoon some mashed potatoes and gravy into his mouth. 
 After everyone had finished their plates, and seemed to be full, except Mark, Stacy stood up again.  “Did everyone, except Mark, get enough to eat?” 
 Everyone agreed that they had, and Stacy spoke again.  “Okay, Mark, the rest is yours.” 
 “Thank you.”  Mark said.  In a blink of an eye the food was their, and then it was gone.   Except for a slight breeze in the room, it seemed as if Mark hadn’t moved at all.   Mark, let out an embarrassed burp.  “Excuse me.”   
 “Well, with food out of the way.  Let’s get down to discussing some business before we all go our separate ways.”  Stacy began. 
 That is the end of our super hero Thanksgiving special.  I hope you enjoyed reading it, and have a happy holiday season.

Next One Shots #10 Mission Briefing.  The Electrical Phantom gets a mission from Sunstar and is reviewing the report.  Don’t know if I will ever actually use this in any story lines, but I might.

The Cosmic Rays Incident
Book I, The Origins of Micro Wave Man and Punk Rocker

Previously on The Cosmic Rays Incident Book I, The Origins of Micro Wave Man and Punk Rocker…  Dr. Spy, an evil leader of a legion to take control over the world, was booting up some old files and reminiscing about how things started.  On the case files Mark Surrender, an overweight accountant, was coming home from work hungry, and tried to cook some food in his microwave oven, only to have it explode on him, and when he revived after the explosion, he discovered he was now thin with new super powers.  Also, on the case files, Dr. Spy was sending Tyrone Bookbagger to steal some chemicals from a group of scientists, after visiting his mom in a nursing home, Tyrone and his dog stole the chemicals, but was in an accident as they escaped, and both now have super powers as well.  What kind of havoc will be unleashed by this duo?  We then returned back to Mark Surrender, who went out on an actual date for the first time in his life.  Now we got back to Punk Rocker who is returning to report back to Dr. Spy.

Chapter Eight
“Doctor’s Appointment”

 Punk Rocker and Battle Dog made their way towards the huge office building where Dr. Spy was awaiting their arrival.  Both Punk Rocker and Battle Dog were covered in now drying and hardening cement.  Punk Rocker still clutched the now half empty canister of chemicals.  He hoped that the chemical left inside wasn’t ruined from the exposure to the air, but even if it was he really didn’t care because if the good doctor had a problem with it, then he would have no choice, but to put the good doctor in his place with his new abilities.  It wouldn’t take much to set Punk Rocker off either; he was already a ticking time bomb of anger from just being covered from head to toe in wet cement.
 They made muddy wet cement tracks towards the elevator to go up to Dr. Spy’s office.  The elevator went up and the doors opened.  Dr. Spy, though he sat calmly at his desk down the hall, already started berating Punk Rocker before he could even take one step out of the elevator.
 “You are very lucky that you didn’t lead the police here to me.  I would have killed you right where you stand, but you are lucky though, aren’t you?”  Dr. Spy said as Punk Rocker and Battle Dog started to make their way towards the good doctor.  “Though you did draw more than enough attention to yourselves, you are indeed very lucky.  After all, you and your mutt there should be bleeding to death from gunshot wounds, but yet, here you are.”
 “If you want to kill me old man, give it your best shot!”  Punk Rocker growled back through clenched teeth.  Punk Rocker set the chemical container down on a nearby table next to a stereo system. 
 “If I wanted you dead my boy, you would already be dead.  No, I have other plans for you.”  Dr. Spy stated flatly.
 “What makes you think you could kill me now?”  Grunted Punk Rocker as he slammed both palms of his hands down on Dr. Spy’s desk.
 “Oh, that’s right, you have new abilities now.  You think I don’t know about those?  The police reports, and my spies, brought that information back to me way before you got here.”  Dr. Spy said as he opened up a drawer on his desk and pulled out what appeared to be a D sized battery.  “Do you see this here?  Do you have any idea what this is?  Of course you don’t, but don’t feel bad almost no one does.  This is one of my battery bombs.  This simple battery here could level this entire building around us.  Hell, I only used a size triple A battery bomb to level my parent’s house and kill them.  But then again that would do nothing to either of us now would it?”
 Punk Rocker was beginning to feel that the good doctor had a lot of nasty little secrets hidden up his sleeves, and though he didn’t back down, it showed on his face.
 “That’s right sonny boy, we both have powers!”  Dr. Spy said as he stood up.  “Don’t look so surprised.  Let’s get this farce out of the way!”
 Both Punk Rocker and Battle Dog let out menacing growls.
 “Go ahead Punk!  Take your best shot!”  Dr. Spy shouted as he tossed his desk to the side sending it slamming into the wall. 
 Punk Rocker was unable to control his anger anymore.  He reared back his fist and let loose a swing.  His fist hardened into stone as it flew connecting with Dr. Spy’s chin.  Dr. Spy’s chin turned slightly, but other than that he was unaffected.
 “That tickled somewhat, but now it’s my turn!”  Dr. Spy replied.
 Battle Dog, sensing that his master was in trouble, let out some eye laser’s at Dr. Spy, but they passed through him harmlessly and seared into a far wall, as Dr. Spy turned intangible into an astral form, and entered into Punk Rocker’s body.
 Punk Rocker was to shocked, by the fact that his punch didn’t even hardly have any effect on Dr. Spy, to even try to fight off this new attack.  After all that punch would have sent any normal human flying through the room.  This wasn’t going the way Punk Rocker had pictured it at all.  The good doctor was far from being defenseless after all. 
 Once Dr. Spy had gotten into Punk Rocker’s body, he easily gained control of it.  Dr. Spy made Punk Rocker’s fists harden into stone, but the rest of his body normal.   Mentally Dr. Spy spoke into Punk Rocker’s head, “Why don’t you stop hitting yourself?”  The stone fists slammed into Punk Rocker’s face a couple of times, then once in the stomach, and once for good measure in the balls before both stone hands grasped Punk Rocker’s throat.  Punk Rocker gasped unsuccessfully for air almost to the point of passing out, before Dr. Spy finally exited his body and appeared again beside him. 
 Battle Dog half whimpered and half growled at Dr. Spy, and was uncertain as what to actually do.  Punk Rocker, who was just now beginning to regain control over his painful body, had enough.  Though he spit up a little blood, he also silently motioned for Battle Dog to back down. 
 “Now that you know that when I say, that if I wanted you dead you would be, and meant it, you can go get yourself cleaned up.  There is another change of clothes for you as well, just like the ones you are wearing now, with a few modifications I think you will like.  You are excused, while I straighten my office back up.”  Dr. Spy said as Punk Rocker began crawling to his feet and making his way back to the elevator.  “By the way, I never say anything I don’t mean.  It’s a waste of time.”
*    *    *    *
 Punk Rocker and Battle Dog were making their way back towards the elevator.  They had showered and scrubbed for an hour to get all of the cement off of them.  Punk Rocker wasn’t really hurt to bad either.  A cut lip and bruised cheek was all he had, and those weren’t to bad.  Punk Rocker was surprised to find that every detail of his clothes was replaced, including his switchblades, and even his missing pistol.  Even his morning star chain belt was replaced as well.  Their was something different about it somehow though, but it would work.  Dr. Spy was definitely an intelligent man, and if he could pull a small stunt like this off, who knew what else he was capable of.  Better to get on the doctor’s good side.
 Again the elevator doors opened up and Dr. Spy began to lecture him, but this time he was in no particular hurry to get to the office and was definitely not going to challenge the good doctor, and yes, he was a good doctor for he had let him live.
 “Ah, this chemical you brought me is simply amazing!  This will greatly enhance my research immensely!  Luckily for us it is still in great condition despite the lousy treatment it has taken!”  Dr. Spy gloated.
 “Yeah, it’s simply done wonders for me and Battle Dog here!”  Punk Rocker commented.
 “Oh, no, no!  On the contrary my friend.  This chemical hasn’t done anything at all to you.  Nope, believe it or not, the cement itself is what gave you your powers.”  Dr. Spy said.
 “What are you talking about?  It splashed all over us before we went for a slide ride in wet cement.  Cement can’t do this to anyone.”  Punk Rocker stated in disbelief.
 “You are absolutely right.  Normal cement can not do this to you, but this wasn’t normal cement.  It was irradiated with something that has now dissipated away.  My computer sensors had picked it up, but was unable to analyze it before it had gone away.”  Dr. Spy stated. 
 Unknown to Punk Rocker and Battle Dog, there was a stereo radio sitting on a table across from Dr. Spy’s desk that looked harmless at all.  It was quite deadly indeed.  It was actually a robot that Dr. Spy affectionately named Sing Song.  Dr. Spy had built it with sensors, scanners, and detection analyzers that far surpassed Dr. Spy’s abilities on it’s own.  It could detect, analyze, and find a weakness in anything.  Dr. Spy had sent it to spy on Punk Rocker’s little mission.  With superior x-ray thermal vision, and the ability to pick up any radio or phone signals, it had recorded and analyzed everything and reported it all back to Dr. Spy.  In fact, this robot helped make Dr. Spy what he was today, but that is a story for another time.
 “My computers have listed all of your known abilities, and some of which you might be unaware of.  Of course, you know that you can turn your skin into cement or stone, but did you also know that you could turn your clothes, and quite possibly anything else you touched to stone as well?”  Dr. Spy mused.  “You also know that you can harness gusts of tornado like winds from your arms, but did you know that you could push that wind through your legs as well and use that through your legs as well and use that to fly?  You seen that Battle Dog can shoot laser beams from his eyes, but did you know that you can do that too?  In fact, you both share the same exact powers.”
 “Really!  Maybe I should do some testing for myself to really get the hang of these new powers.”  Punk Rocked said.
 “You can test yourself on the proving grounds.  I have come up with some new missions for you, which I didn’t know how to pull off before, but with your new abilities it should be a breeze.  The pun was intended, of course.”  Dr. Spy said.  He waited a moment to see if Punk Rocker got it, but Punk Rocker either didn’t get it or didn’t care, so he continued on.  “Are you interested in uping the anty, and doing some jobs more suited to your new talents with great rewards for both of us?”
 “Sure, old man, I’m game.”  Punk Rocker said.
 “There are several museums in this area, which contain artifacts that contain clues to other artifacts that I greatly desire.  These museums contain the highest most updated security systems that I’ve ever seen with alarms on every outside door and window.  Breaking in and then back out again would virtually be impossible, but just breaking out would allow time to escape.  Here’s what I propose.  You and Battle Dog go in disguised as statues by an artist, anyone you choose, and after the museums closed you snatch the things I need, plus a few other things to throw off what we are after, breakout, and bring them here to me.”
 “It sounds like it would work.  I think we could pull that off.”  Punk Rocker agreed. 
 “Good.  I’ll have my men prepare to ship you in, and provide you with a plaque with the artist’s name on it.  What name would you like to put, for both the artwork and the artist?”  Dr. Spy asked.
 “A Punk Rocker and His Dog by artist Mark Surrender.”  Punk Rocker said with a devilish grin, after thinking about it for a moment.
 “Why by Mark Surrender?”  Dr. Spy asked curiously.
 “Because I want to kill the bastard, and if this doesn’t draw him out, so that I can, then, at least, maybe it will cause him some major trouble with the law.”  Punk Rocker spewed in disgust.
 “Good enough for me.  I’ll make the proper arrangements for in the morning.  On the bottom floor is a few sleeping rooms.  Rest for tonight, and we’ll begin things rolling in the morning.”  Dr. Spy said, as he secretly noted to find out about this Mark Surrender.  “Oh, and don’t think of slipping out.  You’re a wanted man.  It’s better to lay low for awhile.  You’ll be safe here for tonight.”
 “Okay, whatever you say, doc, but first a question about my morning star.  Everything else was exactly the same, but the morning star is different somehow, what’s the deal?”  Punk Rocker asked.
 “It’s got several upgrades I think you will like.  Able to freeze, heat, or blow up targets.”  Dr. Spy replied, as he pressed a button to print off something from his computer.  Reaching to grab the paper, he handed it over to Punk Rocker.  “These are the directions for its uses.  You can practice with it a little in the basement target practice rooms.” 
 “Thanks, doc.  Come on, Battle Dog!  Let’s go practice, eat, and get some sleep.  Doctor’s orders.”  Punk Rocker said as he made his way back to the elevator.
 “The doctor knows best.”  Dr. Spy muttered under his breath, as he was already typing in a search for all information pertaining to Mark Surrender.  What he found from pulled newspaper articles, criminal records, court records, etc. was quite interesting, and yet perplexing as well.  Why would Tyrone want to kill the man who kept his father out of jail?  Oh well, if that’s what he wanted, then so be it.  Maybe Dr. Spy would tell Punk Rocker where this Mark Surrender lived as a reward.  The good doctor wouldn’t stand in his way. 

Next Chapter Nine “Making a Name” Micro Wave Man actually starts becoming a super hero using his new found powers to actually help and save people.  Stay Tuned.

Known Powers: Super strength, sort of fast, flight, can cut thru things, pick up any radio, C.B., phone, or electronic waves & tell the meaning of them through speakers, sonic sound generation & control, transformations into electronic equipment such as calculators, watches, computers, (his favorite form a stereo), etc.  also can evaluate people’s weaknesses & use it against them.
Equipment: Saw blades, special lasers, speakers, & other such electronic equipment.  Like all of Dr. Spy’s robots, computers, vehicles, & weapons, it is made of Dr. Spy’s Metal and Plastic, which make it practically indestructible & invisible to most tracking or security systems.
Known Skills: Only what it is programmed to do.  Spying, finding weaknesses, etc.
Limitations or Weaknesses: Unknown, but it draws powers mostly from music.  The sound waves & beat make it stronger.  Turn off the music & it starts to run low on power.  This is kind of hard though since it has a radio built into itself.

Chapter Seven
“A Date With Jenny”

 It was a quarter to eight, and Mark Surrender sat dressed up in new casual wear clothes nervously awaiting for Jennifer to arrive at the fancy restaurant they had chosen for their date.  The seconds seemed like hours, and the minutes like weeks, especially to Mark’s new heightened sense of speed, in which everything seemed to now go in hyper slow motion to him.  He had to be extra careful tonight not to use any of his new super abilities.  Each move he made had to be sure and deliberate. 
 As he sat there waiting, he thought about how his day had went.  He had woke up early this morning, and called in sick to work.  He had to make his voice seem really raspy when he talked.  Since he had hardly ever called in before, his boss was a little concerned about him, but allowed him the day off, and even said that he hoped that Mark felt better soon.  There was no way Mark was about to tell him the truth about how he felt the best he had ever felt in his entire life.  Tomorrow Mark thought he would call in and tell them that he had a much better job offer, and had to move away. 
 Luckily he owned his own house, or he would have had to make up some excuses to his land lord.  However, he did have neighbors, though none were real close or really ever even talked to him.  With his new looks though that could change.  If anyone did decide to come a visiting, to them he decided he would claim to be a cousin with almost the same name, except that their middle names were different.  He would claim that he had a better job offer and was moving away, and that since his cousin had found a job in town wanted to take over the house. 
 After eating some cereal for breakfast, and getting dressed, he had made his way uptown to do some shopping in his car.  A few girls actually looked twice at him, the second time with a sort of lustful look, instead of looking once, and then away in disgust, as he was pleasantly surprised to find because he was not yet used to his new body changes.  He was happy and smiling as he drove to the stores uptown.
 He glanced down at his watch.  He was starting to get really nervous and was beginning to think that this might be a bad idea.  He still had fourteen minutes left to wait.  Boy, time moved really slow, especially when you wanted to hurry up and get it over with.  He chalked up his feelings to now being able to move at super speed, and now all time crawled slowly on.
 He had went shopping in all kinds of stores.  He bought underwear, white t-shirts, and socks in one store.  Blue and black jeans along with some nifty t-shirts with various cool sayings, cool bands, or even food logos in another.  Then the last clothing store he went to he bought a pair of slack pants and a nice dress shirt, along with a new belt, watch, and wallet, all of which he was wearing now.  He went into a shoe store and bought several different pairs in his now new size.  From running shoes, dress shoes, and even sandals, he wanted to make sure his feet were comfortable in their new smaller size.  With his clothes shopping done, he could now move onto his other shopping plans. 
 He first went to a sewing store and bought a sewing machine, lots of different colored spools of thread, clothing dyes, and any other things he thought he might need to design his “super hero” costume, including a couple of books on how to sew.
 His next stop was to an electronics store where he bought a microwave oven, and a speed gun, but the max speed for the gun was only 299 mph.  He tried to find one faster, but the salesperson insisted that nothing ever hardly went faster than that, so he reluctantly got it, even though he felt deep inside that he moved way faster then that. 
 Of course, with all that shopping done, he still had one more store to go to, the grocery store.  He bought what for him would last a week, but for others it would last a month.  Even though he was now a lot skinner, he was still always hungry.  If what he suspected about himself being able to move at super speeds was true, then his new metabolism was burning calories at hyper speeds too.
 As he glanced again at his watch, to notice that he still had to wait ten more minutes for Jenny to show, he thought about how the sales people had behaved around him as he shopped.  Some were guys, who most were indifferent of him, and only one, which he thought for sure was gay, gave him a look over, which had made him feel really uncomfortable at the time.  Most, however, had been women.  Some where a lot older than him.  Most of them had looked him over quite intently, though a couple, who might have been lesbians, or in a serious relationship already were indifferent.  Out of the ones that did look, most were married, or, at least, he thought they were because they had wedding bands on their left ring fingers.  He supposed the ones that didn’t have one on, were probably seeing someone as well because no one hit on him, or openly flirted with him, though they would stare, and that might have just been professional courtesy as well.  He supposed he would have to start getting used to that. 
 He looked again at his watch.  Nine minutes left.  He sighed, put his right elbow down on the table, resting his right cheek on his right fist.  With his left hand he nervously tapped the table with his fingers, as if he was playing a piano in boredom.  He began to feel his face begin to stretch, and quickly caught himself doing it.  He sat back up, pulling himself back together, and hoped that no one had saw that.  He glanced around the room, and apparently no one had because they were to busy in their own conversations, and wasn’t really paying him any mind.  He went back to thinking about his day again. 
 He had left the stores, and went straight home to set-up everything.  He had unloaded the car at super speed, or, at least by now, he thought so, and hoped that his neighbors hadn’t seen him do it.  He had set-up the microwave oven in the kitchen, put his clothes away in the closet, pulling out his old clothes, bagging them up to eventually take to good will or something, and even set-up the sewing machine.  Even his eyes were now working at super speed he noticed as he speed read the new books on sewing, and set to work sewing up his super hero costume, which he was wearing now under his clothes, with the mask slipped into one pocket.  After he finished his costume design, he gathered up all of the boxes, and any other trash he had, and ran it out to the trash dumpster.   His old clothes he placed in his car’s trunk to deliver to Goodwill. 
 He then took the speed gun and loaded it up into the car and headed to the high school football fields where he planned on testing his new abilities.  It wasn’t so much that he wanted to test their true limits, just to see and confirm that he had them.  So after a quick drop off of his old clothes to the Goodwill, he was on his way.
 He was happy to see that no one was on the football field, as he pulled up.  He quickly changed into his costume, and then set up the speed gun.  He casually ran around the track, but when he checked out the speed gun it was maxed out, just like he suspected, and was afraid it would be.  Well, that finally confirmed it, at least.  He know knew for sure that he could move at super human speeds.  Now to test his stretching abilities. 
 He then sat on the fifty yard line of the field and stretched himself out to where he was touching both goal lines at the same time.  That took quite a lot of effort, and he didn’t think he could go much farther than that, but he was still quite impressed with himself for being able to stretch across an entire football field.  How many other people could receive the football and score a touchdown for both teams at the same time?  He was probably the only one.
 As he had been sitting there gloating to himself, he had heard the school bells ring.  He quickly reformed himself, as he began hearing distant footsteps and chattering voices.  He snatched up his speed gun and made his way back to his car.  He had accomplished what he had wanted to do, and hopefully no one had saw him, but even if they had saw him then all they saw was his costume, and not really him.
 The rest of the day he had spent at home pondering what to do, and eating while watching some television.  At four o’clock, he finally decided to call Jenny, and ask her to go out on this date.  It had been a personal hell for him ever since.  The last four hours had seemed to drag on for an eternity.
 He glanced at his watch again impatiently.  It was now five minutes before eight.  He was really relieved though when he looked up, and saw that his wait was finally over.  Jenny was coming in the front doors now, and she was gorgeously dressed to kill.
 They sat in the restaurant for about an hour.  They talked and got to know each other better, while they ordered and ate.  Mark was careful not to over eat, though he was starving, while he sat there and listened to her talk.  Jenny’s real name was Jennifer Sullivan.  She was only twenty-two years old, but she had never been married, or had any kids.  That was a rare find in itself now a days.  She still lived with her mother and father, though she did have her own apartment above their garage.  Her family was well off because her father was upper management for a huge corporation.  She had been an only child, and apparently was very spoiled because of it.  Mark felt bad about the fact that he had to lie and make up a few stories about himself, but, he wondered, how much was she telling him that was the truth? 
 Even though they had spent an hour together, the time just seemed to fly by for Mark.  He was really having a great time with her.  The only real problem for him was trying not to reveal his secret, though he really wanted to, and not using his powers at all, which took some major concentration.  He had already caught himself starting to stretch a few times, and had to will himself back together before she saw him. 
 After dinner they went to the movies and watched a delightful romantic comedy, and even cuddled together, and kissed.  Disappointingly though, even though Mark really didn’t want to, but felt he had to, Mark ended the date after the movie, despite the fact that Jenny had invited him to her place.  He came up with an excuse about having to go to work early in the morning, but that they would go out again very soon.
 The truth of the matter though was that Mark didn’t know just how much longer he could go without using his powers, or revealing his secrets to her.  It was especially difficult to control the urge to stretch when they had been snuggling and kissing.  He really liked her a lot, but what would happen if he revealed what had happened to him?   Would she except him, or would she freak out and never speak to him again because he was a freak?  He didn’t want to risk it this early in the game.  Also, he was practically starving, despite the food he had been eating all night.    They kissed each other good night and parted ways.  Mark made his way back home in home in happy bliss.  He thought about the whole night, and found himself truly in love for the first time ever.  Despite this though, his mind wondered if he should continue this affair or not. 
Next Chapter Eight “Doctor’s Appointment” Tyrone returns to see Dr. Spy, with plans of taking over the operations himself.  Dr. Spy though reveals Tyrone isn’t the only one with powers.  After settling that Dr. Spy then reveals a plan for robbing some museums.  Stay tuned.

Poll Time!

Instead of doing a file here, and in honor of my 50th post.  It is time for you the readers to decide what happens to a character in this story.  Even though Micro Wave Man is a major character in a lot of our super hero stories, he is still a minor character, and hasn’t really been thought out about in terms of his personal life.  Since this is the actual last time she appears in the story that I wrote so far, I have decided to let you decide her fate.  Should he have a normal wife in the future stories, or should this be a short term affair, and if so, should it have a simple ending, or a tragic one for Mark to forever be scarred by.  You the readers decide.  I will leave a letter at the beginning to represent a choice.  All you the readers have to do is leave a comment with just the letter of the choice you made.  If you want you can also comment why you would like that choice, but that is up to you.  I will reveal the poll results in a future Phantom Chronicler’s Electrical Currents.  Jenny’s fate is now in your hands. 

Should the current affair between Mark Surrender a.k.a. Micro Wave Man and Jennifer Sullivan go like:

A.   Mark realizing that the affair is to much trouble, and currently it is to difficult to control his abilities decides to simply break it off, a clean break up. 

B.  Mark continues to date Jenny, but eventually realizes that she is just using him to get her what she wants.  It is even eventually realized that she is even cheating on him with someone else.  Arguments are had, and it is a nasty break up, with hurt feelings on both sides. 

C.  Mark continues to date Jenny.  The villains eventually kidnap Jenny, and end up killing her before Mark can save her.  Tragic loss. 

D.  Mark decides to stay with Jenny.  Their love grows, and he even reveals his secret to her.  She could be a continuing character in all the super heroes lives.  Maybe even get super powers herself eventually in future storylines. 

I will go ahead and place my personal choice here.  The original story concept I came up with was for choice A.  So I will personally stick with that one.  Now you place your votes.

Heavy Metal Thunder Solo Adventures

Previously on Heavy Metal Thunder Solo Adventures…  Heavy Metal Thunder began to become a vigilante when thieves stole his brother’s bike.  He ended up saving a new friend from bullies, to have that friend help him get a computer disk to the police, while on the run from men in suits.  With that fiasco behind him, he had decided to take the day off, and rest at the beach, however, trouble even followed him there.  The Cobra Strikes Gang controlled the beach, and a few of the gang members confronted him.  After beating one the others realized who he was and ran off.  Now Heavy Metal Thunder was leaving the beach. 

Chapter Seven
Introducing the Blond

 My day off at the beach was ruined, or was it?  Can you truly say your day was ruined when the love of your life walks into it?  -H.M.T.

 Heavy Metal Thunder was now leaving the beach, and walking along the lake back towards his home.  Up ahead of him on the road to the left was a set of steps leading down to another section of the beach, and to the right was an alleyway between to buildings. 
 As he got closer to the alleyway, he began to hear a commotion going on inside the alley.  Sounded like raised male voices, and they were saying some rather rude and crude things.  Thinking there might be trouble he set his bag down, digging out his three lock bladed knives and chain.  He set them up in his lefthand, and crept closer to the alleyway entrance. 
 The punks in the alleyway were just having some fun.  The “Cobra Strikes” gang all wore red bandanas.  While several of the punks were getting high on several different types of drugs, about three were harassing a beautiful blond lady, and attempting to rape her, while the others were egging them on. 
 The three had her surrounded, and kept reaching for her threateningly, while saying derogatory remarks. Sometimes there hands snatched at her clothes or hair, others times their hands reached for her behind or breasts, as she slapped them away. 
 Heavy Metal Thunder could tell she did not like this, and that she was scared and begging them to stop, as tears messed up the make up on her face, and ran down her cheeks.  He also knew he had to do something quickly, before they really began to get serious.  So he quickly decided to make his move. 
 One of the “Cobra Strikes” gang members grabbed at the blond woman’s pants, this time not letting go.  “Come on lady, let’s she what you got!”
 That’s when Heavy Metal Thunder appeared and said, “She said, ‘No!’ Gentlemen!”  As he knocked out the nearest punk with a strong right cross punch to the temple.
 The one holding her pants looked up startled that anyone would stop him, and released his hold on her pants.  The lady once freed ran off crying down the alley to freedom.  The two punks who were attempting to rape her, were now to busy staring at Heavy Metal Thunder to notice her leaving. 
 Unfortunately for them, while they stood there taken by surprise, Heavy Metal Thunder never stopped moving.  A black shoe caught the pants grabber in the jaw sending him flying into the wall, and into the blackness of unconsciousness, as he crumpled to the ground.
 Before the pants grabber hit the ground, a spinning back handed right punch caught the other punk in the nose, blood gushing out, and his eyes rolled to the back of his head as he crumpled to the ground. 
 Standing there triumphantly, Heavy Metal Thunder now stood where the four had been.  Suddenly, the other “Cobra Strikes” gang members started coming out of their surprise, and began to advance towards him.  Heavy Metal Thunder, realizing that the blond had a good idea, turned and took off in a dead run back towards the beach behind the alleyway, sliding the knives and chain into a pocket.
 He ran down the stairs towards the beach, but as the gang followed him down towards the beach he began to realize that many other gang members were here on the beach itself.  Quickly realizing he was trapped between two mobs, he managed barely to circle back around behind the ones that chased him originally. 
 He had only one place left to run with the mob of punks back behind him again now, back to the stairs up to the road from the beach.  He ran hard and fast.  Heavy Metal Thunder thought, “Sometimes you just can’t handle a mob, especially if they out number you a million to one.  At least though, they haven’t started firing guns at me like the men in suits.”
 He finally made it to the stairs, panting hard and trying to catch his breath, with the mob close behind him.  About halfway up, with the closest mob punk about four steps behind and wielding a pipe, the noise of a reeved motorcycle engine could be heard at the top of the stairs.  Heavy Metal Thunder, still in a dead run, looked up and saw the punk on the motorcycle, who smiled and said, “You’re mine!”
 Pulling a rather thick chain from a saddle bag on the motorcycle with a whip like motion he started twirling the chain in the air, and reeved up the engine again as he began rolling the motorcycle down the stairs towards Heavy Metal Thunder. 
 Several “Cobra Strikes” gang members took this as a hint to jump over the railing or to run back down, but several stayed watching, either in surprise to scared or just plain to stupid to move, hoping that Heavy Metal Thunder would now get his the hard way.
 Without bothering to even stop running Heavy Metal Thunder leaped into the air just before the motorcycle got to him.  With a scream, “Heavy Metal Thunder!”  He jumped towards the driver, clearing the motorcycle handles, and knocking the driver off of the motorcycle with a sort of football tackle.  The chain went flying out of the motorcycle driver’s hand and over the stair rails, as Heavy Metal Thunder used the motorcycle driver to absorb the shock of the blow as they both hit the stairs hard. 
 The force and sudden shock of the hit to the stairs knocked the motorcycle driver unconscious, but Heavy Metal Thunder acrobatically rolled up the stairs, and he barely regained his footing enough to begin running again. 
 Unfortunately for the punks on the stairs still, the motorcycle kept going, and knocked them to the bottom of the stairs.  The motorcycle wasn’t really damaged, but several punks laid sprawled out on the ground.
 Heavy Metal Thunder kept running up the stairs unopposed now that the punk on the motorcycle was down.  A couple of the punks, who had jumped over the railing, pulled out guns now, and started shooting, but they missed, just barely, as he came to the top. 
 Just as he cleared the steps he noticed that the mob was starting to climb them again.  Even though the shooting stopped, Heavy Metal Thunder couldn’t help but think, “So much for this being a little different from the suits.” 
 Seeing his bag where he had left it before he ran and grabbed it up, just as the mob began to reach the top of the stairs. 
 Just then the blond haired woman, who was in the alley, pulled up in a black convertible, with the top down.  Throwing the bag in front of him into the back seat, Heavy Metal Thunder jumped in yelling, “Go!”  With that the convertible squealed the tires, leaving black marks behind on the black top road, and took off, as several more bullets flew past the car. 
 Meanwhile, the punk, who had been on the motorcycle, regained consciousness, and now in a fit of rage, made his way back for the motorcycle again. 
 “Thanks for saving me.”   Heavy Metal Thunder said.
 “Don’t mention it, you actually saved me, and I couldn’t leave you there to die by those animals.  By the way, my name is Samantha Wilson.”  She said, brushing some blond hair out of her eyes, and looking in the rearview mirror at Heavy Metal Thunder. 
 “Nice to meet you Samantha, like the tattoo says, I go by Heavy Metal Thunder.  So what happened to get you in that mess?”  Heavy Metal Thunder replied, as he sat up in the back seat.
 “I was on my way back to my car, after doing some shopping, when they pulled me into the alley.  After you came to my aid, I ran back to my car again, but as I was about to leave I noticed that you were way outnumbered and in trouble, and I decided to return the favor by helping you.”  She said with an inviting and comforting smile.
 Meanwhile, the mob at the top of the stairs had stopped pursuit, except for one person who pushed his bike back up the stairs. 
 “I’ll get them both, and make them pay!”  Shouted the punk, as he made his way through the mob, and then mounted his motorcycle.   “I’ll make them pay for ruining my fun!”
 The motorcycle was reeved up full throttle and wide open.  The tires squealed, and actual white smoke appeared.  Hesitant only for a second, the bike launched forward leaving a trail about twenty feet in length of one long black mark. 
 The speed began to build, as the driver thought of his revenge.  30 mph…40 mph…50 mph…60 mph…70 mph…80 mph… 90 mph…100 mph…110 mph…120 mph… 121 mph…122 mph…123 mph…124 mph…125 mph… and it was now going off of the speedometer, and was still building up speed.
 Rain started to sprinkle at first, and then pounded with full force and fury causing the roads to become slippery under his motorcycle’s tires.  A car in front of him was going way to slow, so he had no choice, but to pass it.  Just as he was to the side of the car, a huge diesel engine box truck came around the curve.  Suddenly realizing the unavoidable collision, both drivers, scared stiff, slammed on their brakes.  The motorcycle and its driver were ran over and killed by the huge truck, as the terrified truck driver desperately tried to come to a stop.
 That particular “Cobra Strikes” gang member would never again forcibly pull women’s pants down again, but unfortunately the truck driver wouldn’t live long enough to realize the good deed he did, or to do anymore good deeds, as the mob had been watching this, and were already on the move towards him.

Phantom Chronicler’s Electrical Currents # 3

About Me.

First, I want to apologize to any who are following my writings. It has been about two months probably since my last blog. This is due to my real job. Let me explain about myself.

I have always wanted to become a writer of stories about superheroes since I was a little kid. Growing up watching cartoons and reading comic books. I excelled in my English classes because of this. Unfortunately, even though I have written many short stories, and even a couple of books, I have yet to be actually published anywhere.

Due to not making any real money off of my writings I have been forced into working very hard and demanding jobs most of the time. Currently, I am working in the oilfield service industry as a loader for trucks. This includes loading trucks with Hydrochloric Acid, Nitrogen gas, and cement. When I first started these blogs there were four loaders. 2 for the Frac side (loading acid and nitrogen), and 2 for cement (which I was one). At that time, I was working nights, while my partner took days. I was also getting every other weekend off.

Since then, one of the Frac loaders got injured and quit, and the other two loaders were pulled into being Frac drivers. This left me to be the only loader. Now with no days off, and on call 24/7. I am barely able to handle it.

I am stressed out beyond belief, can’t make any sort of real plans to do anything, and sort of in a depression, which has caused me not to write as much. But please stick with me, I will be posting when I can. Even though I can’t give exact dates or time dead lines for anything.

Current Plans.

Writing wise, my current plans are as follows.

First, I will do one more Heavy Metal Thunder Story, and then those will be put on hold for awhile, since I will actually have to sit down and actually write them from here on out.

Second, I will do my 50^th post as Micro Wave Man storyline, as a special post thing, there will be a poll in it to decide the fate of Micro Wave Man’s new girl friend. After that I had previously written one more chapter, then that too will be on hold for awhile.

After those two things are done. I am going to do an exclusive Soulcast premiere of the complete Fragmented Pieces Book I Spirit. Which I had previously written before. It will be only on Soulcast because of it’s violent and horror content, which I do not think would be approved of on myspace or today.com. This will take some time though to get through because I will have to retype it all, and edit what I am typing.

Future Outlooks.

After completing these I have lots of other story ideas. One is a time warped series of adventures in which different heroes, from different time periods, have to team up to stop a great evil from destroying the world.

Also, want to start working on actually doing stories centered on origins of, or team battles with my super heroes. I have lots of ideas, very little time, but stick with me, and hopefully we will all explore them together.

One Shots # 8

Editor’s Notes: Sorry about taking so long between posts, work has been hectic.  Here is a super hero story starring one of my favorite heroes Kat Man 7.  I wrote this one just for fun a long time ago, and is a good stand alone story.  I don’t know if I will tie this into their origin story or not, but I might.

Out of the Movies
Starring Kat Man 7 & Dollarbill.

 The night was early, and the sky was cloudless.  The moon shone brightly along with millions of stars in the sky. 
 The motorcycles were revving up, and the gang was going out to have some fun and to cause havoc on the big city tonight.  With screams of joy, along with hoops and hollers, they rode off toward the city.  Some popping wheelies as they went.
 Meanwhile, Professor John Liver was on his way to see the latest movie, “The Attack of the Chainsaw Killing Zombies.”  He was very excited because he had been wanting to watch this movie for weeks, and was finally getting some free time to enjoy a night on the town.  It starred two of his favorite actors, Carrie Stanfields and Howard Blake. 
 Being stuck in a humanoid cat form all the time was a drag, so he had used his scientific genius to come up with a minor and temporary solution, so he could become human again for a little while.  He took a human pill and had three more in his pockets.  He could stay in human form for four hours.  He was dressed for the evening out.  He was all set and ready to head out.
 He wished his friend Martin could have joined him, but it had been a very busy night at Martin’s motel, with some kind of convention in town for the whole weekend booking up all of his rooms.  Even though he had asked Martin to come, and Martin could have put someone else on his staff in charge for the night, Martin simply refused, and wanted to personally make sure everything was in order for his annual guests. 
 The bikers were on the outskirts of town.  Along the way they were having their own kind of fun, smashing mailboxes, tearing up road signs, and spray painting their logo, “The Psychotic Road Demons” and a pentagram on walls, or whatever else they found.  They were having fun.
 The car, to John’s delight, ran smoothly to the theater.  The line to get into the theater was a little long, but to John it was well worth the wait.  The ticket was a little expensive, but to John it was worth it.  Again the line to the concession stand was a little long, but again John thought it was worth the wait. 
 “Boy, I can’t wait to see this movie!”  John tried to tell a guy beside him, but the dude just more or less ignored him.  He moved up to the counter. 
 “Yes, may I help you, please?”  Asked a young man behind the counter. 
 “I would like a chocolate bar, a large popcorn, a large soft drink, uh, root beer, and some nachos.”  John replied eyeing the menu displayed above the counter.
 “All right, coming right up, sir.”  Replied the attendant. 
 Again he paid a little to much for the food, but he decided it was worth it, and besides he had saved a little extra money and was out to have a good time.  He felt nervous about being around all these strange people, but it wasn’t to bad.  He hadn’t been around large crowds since his experiment had turned him into Kat Man 7.  He went right into the theater, found a seat in the back, sat down, and started munching on his popcorn, as the previews began.
 The Motorcycle gang pulled into the local pub’s parking lot. 
 “It’s time for a few beers!”  Cried the leader, a big fat man with a bluish grey beard. 
 The gang kicked their way in the door, and entered the bar.  A few bouncers tried to stop them from entering, which was a big mistake on their parts, costing them many broken bones.  The gang knocked over tables, and shoved people out of their way, as they made their way to the bar.  A few of the bar patrons, seeing their opportunity to escape, left as fast as they could. 
 “We don’t want any trouble.”  Cried the bartender. 
 “We don’t either, give us beer.”  The leader replied, popping his knuckles.  “And if you go for the phone, it will be the last thing you ever do.”
 The movie ended, and the people started filing out the exit.  John stayed to watch the credits, so he could find out who to write to and complain. 
 “Boy, that was one of the most dumbest movies I ever saw.  That was a total waste of two hours, and a lot of money.”  Thought Kat Man 7.  “Well, it’s time to leave this rip off joint.”
 As John was walking out he passed the arcade section, and noticed the games.
 “Oh, wow!  Two of my favorite games, Dinosaur Wars and Kung Fu Master Street Fighter.”  He quickly pulled out a quarter and started playing.
 The bartender didn’t like the gang at all.  They were tearing up his place, and not paying him for anything.  When none of them were watching, he exited the front under pretenses of getting more alcohol, and went to the back store room, and used the phone there to call a couple of friends of his who were bar bouncers.  Then he went back to the front with a few cases of beer, and served a couple of more beers to the disgusting bunch.
 John Liver was attracting quite a crowd playing Kung Fu Master Street Fighter.  He had the highest score ever, and beat everyone who challenged him as the second player.  Now he was beating on the last ultimate dude boss. 
 Everyone was watching intently.  John, forgetting to pay attention to the time, as females looked at him intently, and males looked on in envy, started his dramatic change into Kat Man 7, but he was so into the game, he didn’t even notice. 
 People looked on now with disgust and horror, as the transformation completed itself.  People began to leave quietly, so the wraith of this monster wouldn’t be tempted to unleash upon them, and eventually no one was left at all. 
 Kat Man 7 defeated the game and shouted, “And that, my friends, is how it is done!”  He took a look around, and saw that there wasn’t anyone still around.  “Was it something I said?”  He looked at himself, and noticed exactly what had happened.  “Oh, crud.  I hate when this happens.” 
 He took the last pill, transforming back into his old human self.  He looked around to see if the workers of the theater had noticed him, but they had been to busy with their cleaning work to notice.  He took one last look at his high score on the game, sighed, and exited the building to go home. 
 The six heavily muscled bouncers walked into the bar.  The gang stopped drinking, stopped shooting pool, stopped harassing unlucky patrons who couldn’t leave, and all of the gang simply looked up at the intruders of their fun. 
 “Got a problem?”  Said one of the closest members of the biker gang.  He was leaning against a rail by the front door, as he added, “The gay bar isn’t here.”
 “Yeah, every single one of you all need to leave.  Now.” Said one of the six bouncers. 
 “Ah, you scare us.  We shaking in our boots, and wetting ourselves now.”  Said on e of the gang members, who just a moment before was having some fun beating and picking on some of the other customers.  “You know…those are fighting words.”  He finished off the beer he was drinking, slamming it on the table, and grabbed a scared woman by her hair.  He forcibly kissed her, and then shoved her back into her seat.  He got up from the table adding, “Don’t you go no where darling this will just take a minute.” 
 The bar tender reached under the counter for his concealed shot gun, but the leader of the motorcycle gang saw him up to something, and punched him square in the nose.  The blow knocked the bartender into his huge background wall mirror hard.  The huge mirror cracked, and several bottles of alcohol and glass flew everywhere as the bartender lost consciousness.  The leader saw what the bartender had been after and took the shot gun and all the cash in the register.  He also grabbed a bottle of whiskey from the shelf, and chugged it down, while his gang took out the bouncers. 
 The fight was pretty much one sided as the gang’s numbers overwhelmed the six bouncers, and the gang made mince meat out of all six of the would be heroes.  One gang member held back from the fight, and made a couple of fire bombs out of the liquor bottles, and waited for his leader’s orders. 
 “Let’s blow this joint, I don’t like the service here anyway.”  Said the leader approvingly. 
 They left the bar, got on their motorcycles, and the gang member who had made the bombs chucked all of them into the interior of the bar. 
 They revved up their engines, squealed tires, and some even rode wheelies out of the parking lot, as the bar exploded, and burned to the ground along with everyone who was still inside, though a few rather lucky ones managed to escape. 
 “Let’s head to the park and have some fun!”  Declared the leader. 
 Ten minutes later, police and firemen were there to take care of the scene, though by then there was little else to do.  Firemen started putting out the fire, but it was pretty much only charred remains now, and police officers were taking up reports of the motorcycle gang.  They had other units immediately on the look out for the rogue motorcycle gang members. 
 John Liver had been shopping at a local super market that was getting ready to close up for the night.  He had gotten some cases of his favorite sodas, some snack foods for later, a particularly fascinating cat toy that he couldn’t explain his attraction to, but had to have it, and browsed through the magazine and book racks for some of the latest scientific magazines and books. 
 John now decided to head for home, especially since he only had ten minutes of humanity left.  His car was cruising down the main street towards the park.  As he drove, thinking about his night out, the sounds of motorcycles, and lots of them, could be heard.  He looked into his rear view mirror and saw the gang, as they sped their way closer and were running cars off of the road. 
 “Uh, oh…this doesn’t look good.”  John thought.
 One of the gang members rode up to the driver’s side of John’s car, and smashed his windshield with a huge chain. 
 John cursed, as he quickly calculated the damage cost in his head, and rammed into the motorcycle knocking the rider off, but unfortunately causing himself to lose control of the car, and sending his own car to go ramming into a light pole.  New figures of the cost of repairs went through his head now, as the other motorcycle gang members ignored his car, figuring it was taken out, and continued on towards the park.
 Meanwhile, the transformation again took place, transforming the human John Liver into Kat Man 7.  He tried to open his car doors on both sides of the car, but they were both jammed from the collision.
 “Somebody’s got to stop those punks, and I’m just that someone.”
 Laser claws popped out of Kat Man 7’s knuckles, and he used them to slice a hole in his roof, which he climbed out of.  He quickly looked around at his car, and again recalculated the costs for repairs in his head, coming to the conclusion that it was totally a lost.  He could also see the motorcycle gang turning back into the park, and with just a thought, Kat Man 7 disappeared from the roof of his car, and reappeared right in front of the startled motorcycle gang at the park.  Using this to his advantage, and taking a couple of punks by surprise, he took them out with a couple of swipes with his laser claws. 
 Noticing that they were now being attacked, a couple of gang members pulled out chains, revved up their motorcycles, and rode wheelies while swirling their chains above their heads, sort of like cowboys riding a horse and using a lasso.  They came racing towards Kat Man 7, who simply sliced through their exposed engines, causing them to crash. 
 Another motorcycle charged, and Kat Man 7 wasted him with his laser claws shooting out like a bullet.  He took out a few more with his laser claws in close combat, leaving his laser claws drained of power after that.  He hadn’t brought any extra power packs for them because this was suppose to be a night of fun, not fighting. 
 The leader watched him in battle, and Kat Man 7 finally noticed that the leader was pointing a rifle at him.  The leader fired, and Kat Man 7 teleported to the leader’s side, just as the bullets reached where he had been standing just seconds before.  The leader looked around in surprise, but didn’t have time to react as Kat Man 7 grabbed his shoulder turning him around, and punched him in the jaw.  The hit took the leader by complete surprise, and he dropped the riffle.  Now the leader was angry, clenching his fists, and swung wildly at Kat Man 7. 
 Ducking low to avoid the swing, Kat Man 7 replied, “You remind me of Joe, the Thug, in Kung Fu Master Street Fighter.  He is easy to defeat, if you do this.”  Kat Man 7 then went into a series of martial arts blows, and defeated the gang leader. 
 The police cruisers began to arrive just as Kat Man 7 finished mopping up the remainder of the motorcycle gang members.  One was left though, and took off running towards an alleyway, which was about a block away. 
 Officer Alan Phillip Jackson seen the cat like creature taking out one of the gang members, recognizing him immediately, and grabbed his radio.  “All units be advised that Kat Man 7 is on our side.” 
 He slowed down his car, and rolled down his window beside Kat Man 7, who had helped him personally on a couple of cases. 
 “Thank you, Kat Man 7.  These scum buckets have been wrecking havoc all night.  Where’s your partner, Dollarbill?”  Said the officer, who had just pulled up and recognized the hero. 
 “You’re welcome.  He’s not here, I’m alone.  Please excuse me, while I retrieve that one who’s escaping.”  Kat Man 7 said as he teleported into the alleyway just in front of the last motorcycle gang member. 
 Officer Alan and his partner Officer Jacob Miles decided to head around the block and cut off the exit of the alley. 
 The motorcycle gang member defensively in surprise at Kat Man 7’s sudden appearance, sprayed red paint into Kat Man 7’s eyes, and used a switchblade knife to stab Kat Man 7 in the stomach, just before Kat Man 7 could get his surroundings into focus from the teleporting.  Kat Man 7 taken completely by surprise, lashed out blindly with his claws on his finger tips in defense, and struck the gang member across the face, and knocked him into a couple of garbage cans. 
 Kat Man 7 fell to his knees grasping his stomach, as the motorcycle gang member quickly recovered, with hopes of still escaping, though his face was now bleeding from the scratches.  He got up and started running out of the alleyway he had went in.  Just as he was about to reach the end, a patrol car pulled in, and the punk started to turn and run the other way. 
 “Halt or we will shoot!”  Yelled one of the two police officers, Officer Jacob Miles, who now stood outside of their car, but behind their car doors, as Officer Miles fired a shot into the air.  The gang member stopped, and raised his hands into the air. 
 “On the ground, hands behind your head!”  Officer Miles demanded the motorcycle gang member to do, and the punk complied.   
 Both police officers ran forward.  One, Officer Miles, stopped and cuffed the motorcycle gang member, while reading him his Miranda rights, while the other, Officer Alan Phillip Jackson, ran to his friend Kat Man 7. 
 Officer Jackson, reaching Kat Man 7, and seeing the knife wound, grabbed his radio mike on his shoulder.  “We need an ambulance right away.”  The officer said into his radio.
 Recovering somewhat, Kat Man 7 replied through clenched teeth, “No, I have a friend not far from here who can help me.  Please, stand back.” 
 Officer Alan stepped back a little as Kat Man 7 got wobbly to his feet, and then teleported away. 
 Martin Van Burge was sitting behind his motel desk doing the night’s cash receipts when his friend’s sudden appearance took him by surprise.  Even though he was used to his friend doing this by now, it still sometimes took him unexpectedly.  Before he could react, either defensively or complaining to his friend about this sudden intrusion, Kat Man 7 crumpled onto the floor.
 “John!”  Martin yelled leaping over the desk in a ninja like flip, and reaching his friend.  “Hold on, John!  I’m here to help you.” 
 Gathering Kat Man 7 into his arms, and then noticing the knife wound, he laid him on the ground, and placed his hands over the wound.  His hands glowed with white light, and the wound healed in an instant.  Recovering now, Kat Man 7 thanked John, and described to Dollarbill what had happened. 
 Martin, glad that his friend was all right, ordered for his motel’s personal tow truck to go and retrieve John’s car. 
 “Sounds like you had fun at the movies tonight, wish I could’ve been there.”  Martin told his friend.  “Instead I had to work and keep this place running.” 
 “Well, it wasn’t as fun as I had hoped.  The movie was bad, the price for everything there was to expensive, the video game incident, and then the motorcycle gang, and getting stabbed.  Man, I need a night of rest from my night of rest!  I’m going to bed now.” 
 “Well, good night then.”  Martin said to his friend who was already teleporting away.

Editor’s Notes: This is another horror story project that I did in a horror writing class that I took in college.  It is about werewolves.  The story sort of has sentimental value to me because it sort of describes an apartment I rented one time. 

A Wolf at the Door

 Linda was at home in her rather small two bedroom house.  Linda sat in the small kitchen, at the kitchen table.  She was playing games on her computer, that was sitting on her kitchen table.  She was playing a game about exploring ancient dungeons, and was currently fighting some skeletons, when the phone rang.  The ring of the telephone startled her, and caused her to lose her character’s life on the game. 
 She walked toward the front door to where the only phone in the house was sitting on the coffee table, and answered it while sitting down on the living room couch.  It was her annoying younger sister, Jennifer.  Jennifer had just gotten home from a school dance, and wanted to come over.  It was all right with Linda, she didn’t care if her sister came over or not.  Secretly, though she wouldn’t ever admit it, she didn’t mind the company, and kind of enjoyed it, so Jennifer was on her way over.
 Linda was twenty-six years old, and her sister was eight years younger than her.  At eighteen years old, Jennifer was still in her senior year of high school, and still lived with their parents.  Linda was now living on her own, and working as a secretary for a big company.  She worked eight to five during the week, and got all weekends off.  Tonight was just another Friday night to her. 
 Linda liked to play video games, and both Jennifer and her liked to watch wrestling on television.  The wrestlers were so hot.  If it was a Saturday, they would be watching the comedy shows of late night, but since it was just a Friday, there wasn’t much on, so Linda just had the television set to the music channel, mostly listening to, and occasionally watching certain music videos, though all in all she didn’t really care for most of the bands nowadays, because she still liked the old heavy metal stuff that only a few bands even came close to today.  She was now trying to ignore commercials, while she went back, and continued to play her dungeon crawler game restarting from her last saving point on the computer.
 She paused the game she was playing, but only long enough to put a bowl of quick making noodles into the microwave oven.  When she poured the faucet water into the bowl, she couldn’t help but to remember all of the times that her mother had warned her against using the house water to drink, but she couldn’t help it.  Though her job paid rather well, she had way to many bills to pay, and it was cheaper to use the sink water, and even drink tea, instead of soda, even though she had some soda too. 
 She decided to pour herself a glass of soda, and then went back to her computer to continue playing the game.  That’s when she heard the howling from outside in the distance.  She knew that it was just the neighborhood dogs that had gotten loose, but still something about the howling unsettled her somewhat.  The howling had disrupted her concentration on the game again, and another skeleton killed her again. 
 She decided that her character wasn’t strong enough to be in this section yet, and that she could build her character stronger in the earlier levels if she restarted.  She started designing her new character, and began the game anew on the computer, just as the porch boards began to creak, and the knock on the door occurred, causing her to die again, this time by what should have been an easy to kill slime creatures. 
 “Oh, no!”  Linda muttered to herself, as she answered the front door.  Jennifer was at the door, and Linda beckoned her to come on in. 
 Jennifer came halfway in the door when she suddenly stopped.  Behind Jennifer, Linda could see the outside trees and long narrow gravel sidewalk leading to the street, which was currently out of view.  Linda looked at Jennifer a little confused, and Jennifer spoke saying, “Wait a few moments before I come in.  I think I heard someone outside in the yard.  It was kind of creepy and eerie.  I am going to go check it out.”
 “All right, but be careful.  I heard some dogs howling earlier, and they could be loose in the yard.  If someone is out there, come back, and we’ll call the police.”  Linda said as she sat back down, and went back to playing her video game.  She knew her sister all to well, and there would be no point in arguing with her about it, because Jennifer was to thick headed to listen anyway.  Besides Jennifer had always wanted to be a female wrestler like the ones on television, and she was pretty well built from working out with weights all the time.  She could easily take care of herself. 
 “I think it might be a burglar or something, but then again, it might not be anything at all.  Listen for me though, and come to the door if I yell.”  Jennifer said as she went back outside, and closed the door behind her. 
 Getting lost in her game, because now she was tearing up all the enemies, Linda failed to realize how long it was since Jennifer had left.  In fact, she had completely forgotten that Jennifer had even came over.  She finally made it to one of the first bosses of the game, a giant, and she was low on healing items.  Her guy finally dies, and her game is over, when she remembers that she had the noodles in the microwave oven.  She glances at her watch, and also suddenly realizes that Jennifer should have been back by now.  As she got her noodles out, which were now only luke warm, she wondered where Jennifer was, and what was taking her so long.
 She finished the bowl of noodles, but Jennifer still hadn’t shown back up.  Now Linda was getting worried.  She hadn’t heard her sister yell out about anything, but then again, she had been pretty absorbed into her game, and might have missed her screaming.  Maybe, she also realized she knew the person, or met and found them interesting.  She was probably talking up a storm with whoever it was, after all she did love to talk about anything with anyone.  Still something could be wrong.  Linda was debating whether to call the cops, or even her parents, to check up on her sister, when the porch boards began to creak again. 
 Linda began to go towards the door to open it, and yell at her sister for taking so long, but it suddenly occurred to her that something was wrong about the sounds that she heard.
 Suddenly, the door burst apart, and the cheap wood of the door flew in every direction.  Standing in the doorway, was the biggest wolf that she had ever seen in her entire life.  Through the doorway past the wolf, from outside in the sky, Linda could make out the full moon.
 Linda screamed in horror, and turned to run, but it was way to late, as the wolf jumped from the doorway on top of Linda, ripping her to shreds.

Heavy Metal Thunder Solo Adventures

Previously on Heavy Metal Thunder Solo Adventures…Heavy Metal Thunder began to become a vigilante when thieves stole his brother’s bike.  He ended up saving a new friend from bullies, to have that friend help him get a computer disk to the police, while on the run from men in suits.  With that fiasco behind him, he has decided to take the day off, and rest at the beach.

Chapter Six
A Day at the Beach

 You ever have one of those days, where you just want to get out, and just relax?  So you gather up the things you need, head out, and just do it.  When your someone like me though, trouble just seems to follow you around, or, at least, it did me this day.  -Heavy Metal Thunder

 Heavy Metal Thunder made his way on foot towards the beach.  He loved to go on long walks just for the exercise anyway, and had the urge to just relax at the beach for the day.  On his back was an old army duffle bag, that had one time belonged to his father, who had served in Korea.  In his right hand he carried a guitar case. 
 He had dressed for a nice relaxing day at the beach as well.  He wore black tennis shoes with white tube socks, black shorts, a black muscle shirt, and a pair of sunglasses.  On his right shoulder was a tattoo that said, “Heavy Metal Thunder” with the words “Heavy Metal” in cursive, and the word “Thunder” inside a lightening bolt.  Above the words on the tattoo was a guitar rift in flames.  He had gotten the tattoo recently, after he realized that was what he has become known as, and even came up with the design himself.
 The day was clear and sunny, with the temperature about in the upper nineties somewhere.  As he walked, he had began to sweat as well, but he didn’t mind, after all a nice relaxing swim in the lake would cool him off nicely. 
 It was still morning, though late morning, and the beach didn’t have many people there yet.  He walked while scanning the few people already there, and found a secluded section, that no one was really at yet.  He decided that he would set up his stuff there. 
 Reaching the spot, he set down the guitar case, and took a knee in the hot sand.  He removed the duffle bag from his back, and began the process of setting things up.  First, he pulled out a beach towel, and spread it out.  Second, he pulled out a folding lawn chair, and set that up as well.  Third, he pulled out a small cooler which could only hold about a small six pack of sodas, and then set it beside the chair.  Lastly, he pulled out a stereo that played tape cassettes, and a small cassette tape case that held about twenty cassette tapes, which all had heavy metal music on them.  He set that up on the towel, but didn’t turn on any music just yet, because he was going to go for a swim first.
 Sitting in the lawn chair, he removed his shoes, socks, and shirt.  Then he padded his way through the burning sand towards the lake for a swim.
 *     *     *     *
 The “Cobra Strikes” gang pretty much owned this section of town, and especially ran the beach here.  This was their turf, and they pretty much did whatever the hell they wanted to here.  The police used to patrol this area of town, but thanks to their constant attacks on them whenever they did show up here, the police no longer patrolled this area, and would only come here when absolutely necessary, and only then in great force. 
 In other parts of town, there were warning signs of how dangerous this area had become.  Posters adorned walls warning of the high crime rate here, especially at bus stops, and public community services centers.  The “Cobra Strikes” gang was particularly proud of this. 
 All members of the gang wore red bandanas, to symbolize their unity.  Anyone in the gang recognized others of this gang immediately, but others, except for police who were quite aware of what the red bandanas represented, usually thought it was just a fashion statement. 
 Usually in the early afternoon, they would begin to gather at the lake, so they could get high, and figure out what they were going to do later that night.  Usually, if no one messed with them, they pretty much kept to themselves, but if people started getting on their nerves, stepped up to them, or if they have had bad run ins with a certain somebody before, then they wouldn’t hesitate to step up and lay a hurting on people.  Of course, if gorgeous ladies were there, they would be harassed, and if someone had something they happened to see, and they decided they wanted it, then they just took it. 
 The “Cobra Strikes” gang pretty much had it made here.  They had connections with a pretty powerful individual, who supplied them with drugs, and only occasionally asked for other things in return.  He also kept them informed of local police actions, and if any other trouble was coming their way.  It was a pretty sweet deal. 
 *     *     *     *
 It was beginning to become later in the afternoon.  More and more people were gathering on the beach, and were starting to get closer to Heavy Metal Thunder.  No one bothered him though, and no one complained about his music, and he even thought a few others were enjoying his music as well. 
 He had fun swimming, and was now just relaxing, and enjoying the view of some of the hotter females running around on the beach with bikinis on.  It was beginning to be a good day at the beach. 
 *     *     *     *
 Sammy, and his two hommies, noticed the dark haired dude sitting on the beach, but they had no real beef with him, other than the fact that he had bad taste in music.  They didn’t really pay him any mind though, because they had more immediate things to do right now, like get high.  They made their way up the beach to a secluded spot, and began to get their stash set up for a fix.  All three were black males, and wore red bandanas on their heads, mostly because they were part of the “Cobra Strikes” gang, but mostly to keep the sweat from their bald heads from running into their eyes. 
 They quickly done their business of getting high, and made their way back to the beach before anyone suspected what they were up to.  There wasn’t enough of their gang here at the beach yet, to totally do whatever they wanted, so a little discretion was in order. 
 The dark haired man laid in a green lawn chair on the beach.  Beside him on the ground was a huge boom box with lots of heavy metal tapes all sitting on a beach towel.  On the other side was a guitar case, and in front of the green lawn chair was a small cooler.  Sammy was watching him, but currently only out of curiosity. 
 The dark haired man listening to the music pulled out a soda from the cooler, and opened it up.  He then causally took a drink.  He then put the soda in a little cup holder on the chair, and opened up the guitar case and pulled out the guitar inside, putting it on his lap. 
 “Hey, let’s get some real tunes of our own going.  Break out that radio of yours, and get some rap going here.”  Sammy told his hommies.  One of his hommies pulled out the boom box he had been carrying, and started fiddling with the dials.  Rap music started playing, but they could barely hear it, so he kept fiddling with the dials. 
 Heavy Metal Thunder begun playing the guitar by ear with the song that was playing on the boom box.  No one really knew who he was though.  Some thought maybe he was with a band, some thought maybe he just played guitar, and some didn’t think at all, and just enjoyed listening to the music. 
 Even though Heavy Metal Thunder was playing his guitar, he couldn’t help but to notice a small commotion going on.  A small group of black males were sitting a little away from him.  They were trying to get their radio to play rap music louder then the heavy metal music he was playing, but their radio was no real match for his radio and guitar.  Even from this distance from them, he could tell that they were mostly high, and on in particular was getting quite frustrated. 
 Sammy was getting quite frustrated now.  He didn’t know if it was his high getting him this way, or what, but he was getting really sick of the heavy metal music.  He couldn’t take it anymore. 
 “I’m going to put an end to that noise over there, even if I’s got to kill ‘em.”  He said as he popped out a switchblade knife, and walked over towards the dark haired man. 
 Not being blind, Heavy Metal Thunder saw him coming with the knife, and just kept on casually playing.
 “Yo, cracker, shut that off, or I’m going to slice you, but good!”  The black man screamed, as he kicked Heavy Metal Thunder’s radio over and off.
 “I was done playing anyway, because I’m more in the mood now for a good brawl!”  The dark haired man said to Sammy’s surprise, as Heavy Metal Thunder leapt to his feet and swung his guitar into the side of Sammy’s head in one fluid motion.  The guitar shattered, and Heavy Metal Thunder watched as the black man went flying backwards into an unconscious heap on the ground, and the knife fell out of his hand and into the hot sand, practically burying itself. 
 People who were nearby, began to gather up their belongings and head out of the area.  The other two black guys got up, and pulled out weapons of their own, while Heavy Metal Thunder reached into the old army duffle bag for four items he was hoping not to have to use today, but had kept them stashed there hidden until now.
 Three of the items were lock blade knives that looked the same, but were all different sizes.  Heavy Metal Thunder had been thinking of using these only recently.  He knew after his recent troubles, that he could only take out weapons with other weapons.  A gun would be way to much trouble, not only with the law, but also to conceal.  But these were perfect.  Easily hidden, easily explained if necessary, and he even gave them personal meaning.  The smallest stood for self protection, the medium sized one stood for protection of innocents, and the largest was for fighting evil.  He even practiced for quite awhile at throwing them for precision targeting. 
 He opened the lock blade knives and placed them between his fingers on his left hand.  Then he pulled out the fourth item, a small chain that bound the knives onto his hand, and bound the meanings together.  In ancient times, somewhere in the orients, Heavy Metal Thunder had heard, weapons were banded in a certain part, people learned how to use common ropes in fighting, to subdue attackers.  He could do this with the chain.  He could also use it like a whip, or even as a brace knuckle substitute. 
 He stood up, revealing his weapons to the two approaching black men, and for the first time the young black men noticed the tattoo that said “Heavy Metal Thunder” on his right shoulder. 
 The young black men were now hesitant to attack, as the dark haired man started walking forward towards them. 
 “If it’s a brawl you guys are looking for, then you just found one!   Heavy Metal Thunder!”  He said, as now he was trotting towards them. 
 “Hey, man, I ain’t tangling with him.”
 “I heard about him, and if he’s even half as bad as I’ve heard, we ain’t got a chance in hell of fighting him on our own!” 
 “Let’s get out of here!”
 The two young black men went running as fast as they could, leaving their things and even their buddy behind them.  “We have to tell the other’s that the guy Mr. Vandimer warned us about is here!” 
 The dark haired man stopped, and went back to the lawn chair.  The young black man, who had been hit by the guitar, was starting to stir.  Heavy Metal Thunder stood above him.  Sudden realization of who the dark haired man was filled his brain. 
 “Uh, oh!”
 The young black man got up stammering.  “I didn’t know it was you…”   And started to haul it out of the area.
 Heavy Metal Thunder turned back to his things.  He folded up his lawn chair, and stuffed it back into the army duffle bag.  He then put the tapes, beach towel, small cooler, knives, and chain into the duffle bag.  He examined his boom box, and was relieved that it wasn’t damaged , even though his guitar was shot.  He put the boom box into the duffle bag, closing it up.  He picked up the busted guitar and put it back into it’s case as well. 
 Placing the duffle bag back on his back, he picked up the guitar case up to leave.  On the way out, he dumped the guitar case in the trash.  No use keeping it, because there was no way to fix it, and he would have to just buy another one anyway. 
 “Can’t even enjoy a day of peace at the beach.”  He mumbled to himself, as he made his way towards some buildings away from the beach.

Book I, The Origins of Micro Wave Man and Punk Rocker

Previously on The Cosmic Rays Incident, Book I, The Origins of Micro Wave Man and Punk Rocker…  Dr. Spy, an evil leader of a legion to take control of the world, was booting up some old files and reminiscing about how things started.  On the case files Mark Surrender, an overweight accountant, was coming home from work hungry, and tried to cook some food in his microwave oven, only to have it explode on him, and when he revived after the explosion, he noticed he was now thin, and possessed new super abilities.  Also on the case files, Dr. Spy was sending Tyrone Bookbagger to steal some chemicals from a group of scientists, he stopped to visit his mother in the nursing home, then headed for the theft.  He is now about to commit the robbery.

Chapter Six
Down and Dirty

 Tyrone and Battle Dog made their way to the back of the building they were suppose to break into for Dr. Spy.  Punk Rocker thought that the back way in would be the best.  They passed through a deserted construction site in the shadows of the night.  The back of the intended target building was deserted, and hardly anyone was on the streets at this time of night.
 As luck would have it, Tyrone passed by a few construction crates, and saw something slightly shimmering from a far away street light.  It was a crowbar, probably used to open up the crates, and forgotten by the work crew.  Thinking that it could be useful as a way to break into the building, and a handy weapon as well, he picked it up and brought it with him.
 As he continued on through the construction site, and towards the building, he noticed that there were two doors in back, one by a huge garage door, and one by it’s lonesome.  Better to try the one by it’s lonesome, Punk Rocker thought.  The one by the loading dock might have people inside working on loading or unloading boxes for a truck that could suddenly show up at anytime.  They could easily see signs of forced entry, and even cut off chances for escape.  No, the lone one would probably be best, and more hidden, especially since it was behind a fence, with some form of generator or something.  It might not be guarded as well there, and perhaps no alarm on the door either. 
 He could try scaling the walls to the second floor windows, but that would be very dangerous, with more chances of a passing police cruiser seeing him, not to mention the fact that Battle Dog, a very valuable asset to this job, would have to stay behind.  No, it would be better to just storm through this door as fast as possible, and hope for the best. 
 They approached the fence at a quick jog.  Punk Rocker quickly noticed the padlock and chain on the gate.  There were now three choices he could make.
 He could use his pistol to just blast his way through the gate and the door, which would get him in very quickly, but draw way to much attention to himself, so he right out threw that choice away.
 He could throw Battle Dog over the fence, and scale the fence himself, but if they had to leave in a hurry, they would waste valuable time hurdling back over the fence on their way back out.  He threw that choice out as well.
 No, he would have to use the crowbar on the padlock, then try to hide that it had been pried open from a quick inspection, that way they could use this as their escape route, and possibly block expected pursuit.
 It took a couple of tries with the crowbar, and Tyrone worried it might not work, before the padlock finally gave way.  Punk Rocker also worried that someone might pull up and see him as he was working, but he managed to finally get inside and wrap the chain back around. 
 He was about to get to the door when he heard a car turn into the back alley.  He could see headlights brightening up the black top.  His heart began to pound fast, as he grabbed up Battle Dog, and ducked behind the generator.
 “Uh,oh!”  He muttered under his breath, as the car drew closer.  The car though didn’t stop or even slow down, it just kept on going through the alley, and continued on it’s way. 
 With a sigh of relief, he got up putting Battle Dog back down, and went back to the door, and tried opening it.  It was locked, which was no surprise really.  He used the crowbar to pry the door open, as he more or less prayed that no alarm would go off.  No alarm did, as the door swung open. 
 With a sigh of relief, Punk Rocker entered into what appeared to be the basement section of the building.  There were heaters, hot water boilers, and even electrical panels all over down here.  Punk Rocker tried to close the door behind him, but it was simply to busted up to stay completely closed, so he left it as it was. 
 There was a door to a hallway outside it.  He looked through the glass window in the door for a long moment before going through the door itself.  Even though the hallway was well lighted, there seemed to be no people around, and no cameras anywhere that he could see, so it was safe enough. 
 Nearby where he entered the hallway, he found a set of stairs going up.  He figured up was where he needed to go, so he took them, with Battle Dog at his heels.  There didn’t seem to be any cameras in the stairwell either, and if anyone came along he would have to take them out quickly.  Luckily, no one came out as he made his way up to the top floor. 
 He looked through the door’s window, and to his horror, he spotted a camera mounted on the wall.  Luckily, it wasn’t pointed at the door, but down the hallway.  If he remembered the trick he was taught right, he could get the camera to freeze on a certain frame, and no one would know it until a closer inspection took place, unless they were looking right at the monitor the exact second he did it, and knew the signs of tampering.  He pulled out a switch bladed knife to use as a screwdriver, and went to work.
 *     *     *     *
 Mr. Patterson was to busy eating a sub sandwich, and talking to his wife on the phone, to even worry about watching the monitors.  Besides, since he had started this job five months ago, nothing ever happened.  He knew his other two security guards, young recruits, were busy doing a physical walk through of the building. 
 Mr. Dickerson on the bottom floor for now, and Mr. James on the middle floors.  He would see them from time to time on the cameras, but no one else, as far as he knew, was in the building.  He had no worries at the moment because if anything was a miss his walkie-talkie communicator would go off with them reporting it to him, so he continued on with the conversation with his wife about how the kids had acted up today, and continued eating his sandwich.
 *     *     *      *
 Punk Rocker successfully pulled off the trick to the camera, and put his knife back away, as he made his way down the hallway to the lab door, with Battle Dog still by his heels.  He looked through the lab door’s window, and was pleasantly surprised to see the exact canister he needed sitting neatly marked in a locked cabinet door window. 
 “This might be way easier than we thought Battle Dog.”  He said, as he entered the lab, and made his way to the cabinet, unaware of the video camera inside the room. 
 *     *     *     *
 Mr. Patterson was still talking to his wife, though the sandwich was now gone, when his walkie-talkie went off, taking him by surprise. 
 “This is Mr. Dickerson in the boiler room.  I think we have an intruder on the premises.  The boiler room outside door has been pried open.  Over.”
 Mr. Patterson’s eyes had went straight to the video monitors, as the voice spoke to him through the walkie-talkie, to instantly find the young Mohawk haired man, and Bullmastiff dog in the lab, breaking into the chemical storage area. 
 “Honey, we actually have a serious situation here.  I’ll have to call you back when I can.”  Mr. Patterson said, as he hung up his cell phone, and picked up the walkie-talkie.  “That is an affirmative on the intruder.  He is in the lab.  The intruder is a young Mohawk haired gentleman and he has a dog with him.  They both look to be quite dangerous.  I want to take him by surprise.  Mr. Dickerson come up the right stairwell.  Mr. James come up the left stairwell.  I’ll be coming up in the elevator as soon as I inform the police of our situation.  Everyone proceed with caution, and be on the lookout for more intruders.  Do you copy?”
 “I copy that, going up the right stairwell!”  Mr. Dickerson said, and Mr. Patterson could hear him down the hallway going through the double doors. 
 “I copy that too, and I’m on my way to the left stairwell!”  Mr. James piped in, though he sounded like he might have been napping, and just woke up.  He didn’t blame Mr. James for snoozing, but it might bite them all in the ass this time around.  Even Mr. Patterson himself had let his guard down though, and they all would be under stricter rules for awhile, after a severe reaming from the bosses for allowing someone on the property, that is, if they still had jobs. 
 “Okay, let’s get him!  Over and out!”  Mr. Patterson said, as he sat down his walkie-talkie, and dialed the number for the police.
 *     *     *     *
 Punk Rocker made his way over to the cabinet, and jimmied it open with the crowbar, and claiming his prize, took out the canister.  As he turned to leave the room, he was smiling contentedly, when a small blinking red light from the corner of his eyes caught his attention.  He looked closer, it was a camera.  His smile turned into a frown, as he muttered, “They know we’re here!  Come on Battle Dog!  We have to run!” 
 They entered the hallway, but Battle Dog silently let Punk Rocker know that people were coming up the stairs.  The elevator wasn’t moving yet, so he hit the button.  The doors swung open, and he jumped in, Battle Dog staying close by, hitting the button for the first floor.  The elevator doors closed just as the two security guards with guns drawn came out of each stairway. 
 *     *     *     *
 Mr. Patterson had informed the police of their situation, and even told them the front door would be unlocked, and that they should just come on inside. 
 He had just went and unlocked the front doors, and was making his way to the elevator when his walkie-talkie squawked again. 
 “Mr. Patterson, come in!” 
 Absently he pressed the button to the elevator, not realizing that it was already in motion, as he reached down and pulled his walkie-talkie from his belt. 
 “This is Mr. Patterson, over.”
 “The intruder is on the move!  He’s coming down…”
 Ding!  The elevator doors swung open to reveal the young Mohawk haired gentleman swinging a crowbar at his head.  Mr. Patterson barely had time to raise his arms to cushion the blow, but it still sent him sprawling to the floor.  The walkie-talkie still squawked, as it went sliding across the floor.
 “…the elevator.  We are making our way down the right stairwell in pursuit!”
 “Thanks for the tip.”  Punk Rocker said as he continued running down the hallway towards the boiler room.  He stopped at the stairwell double doors just long enough to slide the crowbar into the handles to block them. 
 “That crowbar came in real handy after all!”  Punk Rocker said as he continued on towards the boiler room. 
 As he entered the boiler room, he saw the security guard he knocked down already starting to get back to his feet, and he could hear the others banging on the blocked doorway. 
 He made his way out the busted back door, and through the gate, trying to tie the chain back up, but it wouldn’t stop them, just slow them down.  In the very far distance he could hear police sirens, and knew they were coming for him, as he made his way towards the construction site.  He glanced back briefly as he ran, and saw the three security guards coming through the gate already, with guns drawn.  However, he was safe for the moment, because they didn’t have a clear shot at him.
 They were closing in on him fast though.  He saw a concrete slab ahead, and ran for it, as he pulled out the 9mm pistol from his back. 
 One of the security guards was now close enough to take a shot, and fired.  The bullet hit the canister, spraying the chemical all over Punk Rocker and Battle Dog.  Punk Rocker turned to fire back, as he was still running and reached the cement slab.  The cement was fresh, and still quite wet, and Punk Rocker, taken by surprise, slid uncontrollably into Battle Dog, and both of them went sliding into the middle of the slab of wet cement.
 Punk Rocker still managed to keep a grip on the now half empty canister, but his gun was now buried somewhere in the cement goo, and was probably useless now anyway.
 The security guards now reached him, and had him surrounded.  By the look of things, they pretty much knew he was more or less captured. 
 “Stay down, sir!  The police are on their way!”  Mr. Patterson said as he used his cell phone to dial the police.  “Yes, this is the security officer who called just a bit ago about a break in.  Well our fellow tried running, but slipped in some wet cement at the construction site in back.  We have him pretty much in custody now.” 
 Punk Rocker felt a strange tingling sensation all throughout his entire body.  He didn’t really know what it was from.  It could be because of the chemical, from the fall, or because he was now really angry at the arrogant security officer before him.  He didn’t really care though what it was.
 “Back off, creeps!”  Punk Rocker said, jumping to his feet, and pulling out a switchblade with his free hand, and still holding the canister in the other.
 “Drop the knife on the count of three, or we open fire!”  Mr. Patterson said flatly.
 Punk Rocker stood there, with a death grip on the knife, breathing heavy snorts of air through his nose.  He was determined not to go to jail, at least, not alive.
 “One…two…”  Mr. Patterson started counting, but Punk Rocker and Battle Dog were already charging for them.  “Three!  Fire!”
 Punk Rocker knew this was probably the end for him, but, at least, he had gone out fighting.  Right before his very eyes, however, a miracle happened.  Maybe all of his prayers were heard by God after all.  His skin turned into stone right as all three security guards fired at him, and the bullets ricocheted off of him harmlessly.  The security guards were taken a bit by surprise, and fired again with the same results.
 “I…said…back…off…creeps!”   Punk Rocker spewed through angrily gritted teeth as he pointed his arms forward.  To everyone’s surprise a huge cyclone gust of tornado like air shot forth from his arms, and slammed into the three stunned security guards, sending them flying back, and sprawling to the ground. 
 Close by was a scaffolding full of bricks to build walls with.  To Punk Rocker’s surprise, Battle Dog shot strange beams from his eyes, and sent the scaffolding, bricks and all, down on top of the security guards.  If they weren’t dead now, they were definitely stopped.  Sirens were now getting really close to the building. 
 “Come on, Battle Dog, we got a doctor’s appointment to keep!”  Punk Rocker commanded. 
 They quickly made their way out of the construction site, and using back alleyways, and dark places, made their way back to Dr. Spy’s offices.

History: So far we know that he has had a troubled youth.  His mother was a hooker & drug user, and his father was a drug dealer.  He believes his dad was killed in prison after his attorney (Mark Surrender) lost his case, but what really happened was that Mark had gotten his father off, and his father was killed by the brother of the one that was killed by his father.  His mother so distraught lied to him about this, then fell into a deep depression and really started abusing drugs.
Attempting to take care of his mother and him, he joined a gang, but his mother was to bad off and had to go into a nursing home.  Advancing in the gang he got himself a dog, Battle Dog, and trained it to do exactly what he told it to.   Through this recent robbery attempt he now has super powers.  How will all this work out for him, stay tuned and find out.

Chapter Five
Got To Run

 Mark Surrender woke himself up to the sound of one sitcom or another playing on the television.  He didn’t know or really even care which one it was, because he never really watched any of them.  If he really wanted to see people acting stupid, he could just walk downtown.
 There was a moment of confusion, and shock, that went through Mark’s mind, about his new thin self, before he remembered the events that had just recently happened to him.  He guessed he would have to start getting used to this for awhile, after all he had been through an entire life time of being fat, to find himself being skinny in an instant.  It was sort of like losing a tooth, and getting used to it missing, but this sensation covered his whole body. 
 His stomach rumbled slightly in hunger.  He looked at the clock on the vcr/dvd player.  It said it was nine o’clock.  His stomach rumbled again.  He knew he was hungry, and thought about some of the fast food restaurants downtown.  There was one he was particularly craving right now. 
 For reasons that he didn’t even really think about, he decided to stretch his legs.  Without any real thinking, he got up out of the chair, and was out the door in literally a blink of an eye.
 He went down the street at what seemed to him a mere jog.  He felt energized, refreshed, and healthier than he ever had before.  He felt the need to stretch out his muscles, and just go.  In reality, he was moving faster then the human eye could even see.  The people, he passed by in the street, couldn’t even see him at all.  They just only felt a slight breeze as he passed them by, and just chalked it up to the wind picking up slightly. 
 Mark quickly made it to the restaurant, and slowed himself down to a walk.  He felt great.  He felt more full of energy and life then he had in…oh, ever before. 
 He let himself in the front doors, and made his way to the counter to place an order.  Behind the counter was a gorgeous little blond lady, who was cleaning up the counter.  Her name tag said Jenny.
 The female attendant was rather surprised at the sudden appearance of the very handsome blond haired man, but she didn’t think anything out of the ordinary had happened, just that she had been to busy, that she hadn’t seen him approach. 
 “May I help you, sir?”  Jenny asked.
 “Yes, I would like four double cheese burgers, four large fries, a couple of chicken sandwiches, and a large orange soda.”  Mark replied. 
 Since he had placed such a huge order, she couldn’t help but to wonder if he was throwing a party, or buying for his family, or something, so she just had to ask him, even though she would have been greatly disappointed if he was married.  “Are you throwing a party, or just buying for your family?”
 This took Mark by somewhat of a surprise.  “Uh…what?”  He had forgotten that he was now thin again, and would look like he couldn’t possibly eat all this alone.  He quickly formulated a lie in his head about having to work late, and making a food run for the office.  “Oh, uh…No, I’m an accountant, and our quarterly budgets are due tomorrow.  Some of us are just working late at the office to get it finished, and I’m doing a food run for everyone.” 
 “So it’s sort of a party then.  Does anyone else want drinks?”  She replied, as she was preparing his large orange soda, and handed it to him.
 “No, we have a soda machine at the office, I’m just parched and thought I would drink this on the way back to the office.”  He said smiling. 
 Then something, that had never happened to him before, finally happened.
 Jenny just had to know if he had a wife or girlfriend.  She asked, “Are you seeing anyone?”
 Disbelieving what he was hearing, he stammered, “What…uh, no.”
 He couldn’t believe she had just asked if he had a wife or girlfriend, and even more unbelievable to him, when he replied no, she immediately wrote her number on his receipt, and told him.  “Why don’t you call me sometime?  Maybe we could go out, and do something together.”
 He took the receipt into his hands and replied.  “Oh, ok.  That sounds like fun.  I’d love to do that.  How about if I call you sometime tomorrow?”
 “Sure, I look forward to your call.”  She said, as she began gathering up his order in bags.  Then she handed him his bags of food, and told him, “Have a nice night.  Don’t work to hard.”
 “You too.”  He replied, as he was taking the bags from her.  He walked slowly backwards from the counter towards the doors in disbelief.  She was already taking another customer’s order, but she did look up one last time, and gave him a wink.  He waved goodbye, and walked out the front doors. 
 He had to catch his breath, not from physical exhaustion, but from the sheer shocking amazement of this all.  What could a gorgeous girl like that possibly see in him?  He looked disbelievingly at his thin hand clutching the receipt with the phone number and Jenny’s name on it, and thought to himself, “Wow, this thin thing is really working wonders!  If I could only market exploding microwave ovens for everyone, I’d be a millionaire!”
 He thought for a few seconds about how he had seen her in there lots of times before, and  he even always had a semi-crush on her before and tried to be nice to her, but somehow she was either somewhat rude, or paid him little attention.  He concluded that, if she didn’t really recognize him at all really, then no one else would either.  He finally caught his breath, and decided to jog again back home.  People in the parking lot saw him standing there one second, and then he completely vanished the next.  They were a bit shocked and looked around for a moment, but then put the whole thing behind them, chalking it up to the fact that their eyes must have been playing tricks on them. 
 He reached his door, and let himself into his house.  He walked into the living room to find his television still on, and to his surprise still playing the same sitcom, as when he left.  He looked again at the clock on the vcr/dvd player, and his jaw literally hit the floor.  The clock read 9:05 p.m.  He stretched both arms down to the ground, and put his jaw back into place, before stammering aloud, “That can’t be!  That’s impossible!”
 This was almost to much for him as he sat, or practically fell plopping down into his chair.  He absently unwrapped one of the sandwiches, and began chomping it down, as his mind tried to take in, and comprehend, all of the events that had happened to him today.  It was all almost unthinkable to him, and if it wasn’t really happening to him now, then he was quite sure he wouldn’t believe it himself. 
 He was going to have to really see how far the limits of his new powers were.  He had the abilities to run super speeds, stretch, and even heat things up with his hands.  What other stuff could he now do as well?  He wondered this as he was munching down some of the fries, and washed it down with a swallow or to of the orange soda.  He grabbed another sandwich and began chomping down on it, as he began a new train of thought.  There was also his, before now not thought of, sexual attraction from the opposite sex.  He could now actually fulfill some of his wildest sexual fantasies. 
 He finished that sandwich and began working on another, as he began to wonder if maybe he should go somewhere and be tested to see if he was at a health risk for anything, or if his powers were only temporary or permanent.  Somehow the very thought, of himself going back to being overly obese again, revolted him.
 No, he couldn’t let anyone know of his new found abilities.  He remembered his thoughts on this from before, and besides, who or where could he go for those kind of tests?  As for the health risks, and permanent or limited time on his abilities, he would have to just figure that out as it happened, but he would have to test out his new found abilities on his own, but how?
 Suddenly an idea of the perfect place popped into his head.  The high school football field.  It would be perfect.  The stadium itself was built, so that if you weren’t on the field itself, you couldn’t see it.  The track around the field could be used to test out his speed, and the football field could be used to see how far he could stretch himself out.  He would have to go there when no one was around.  Maybe he could purchase a speed gun like the cops used to see how fast he could move. 
 He was going to have to take tomorrow off from work, and even possibly have to quit his job all together, as not to lead suspicion onto his new abilities.  He might even have to take up a new identity all together.  Maybe one as a relative to himself, claiming that he was house sitting for awhile. 
 He finished up all of the food he had, and decided this was all to much for him to take in for now.  He gathered up all of the wrappers into the fast food bag and threw it into the trash can.  Then he shut off the television, and made his way to his bedroom.
 He undressed, and was going to change into his pajamas, when he discovered a whole brand new problem all together.  All his other clothes, except for the ones he wore in the explosion with him, were now way to big for him to wear.  He would have to buy more clothes tomorrow.  He decided to sleep just in his underwear. 
 So he wouldn’t forget, he pulled out a notebook and pen from his night stand, and jotted down his ideas for testing himself, calling in sick, and a shopping list of several things he now needed.  As he made the list out, and got to the clothes, he thought about how he should probably make himself some sort of “super hero” costume to hide his identity when he was using his powers. 
 “Super hero” costume, now that was a funny thought.  Thinking about it now though kind of made a weird sort of sense.  Yes, he should use his new found abilities to help those who were in peril he supposed, but only when absolutely necessary.  He could use the clothes from the explosion to design the costume, after all, they shared his abilities it seemed.  That is after he used them to go shopping tomorrow.  He would have to watch himself closely as well, as not to exhibit his powers in public. 
 He jotted down a few more notes, like buying clothing dye and a sewing machine.  He even sat on his bed and doodled a fresh costume design out, before setting the notebook and pen on the night stand, and turning out the light to go to sleep.  After all, tomorrow was going to be a very busy, and very interesting day.  He might even call the fast food girl up.
 He shot back up from bed, and turned the light back on.  “The phone number!”  He shouted to himself. 
 He jumped out of bed, and went to the trash can.  He dug around in the fast food bag, and found the receipt. 
 With a sigh of relief, he went back to the bedroom, and placed the receipt into the notebook.  He shut off the lamp, and quickly fell to sleep, still thinking about how tomorrow would be.
